My Make Orange

I belong to a fabric dyeing group called Dye Hard Run Off and I'm having so much fun learning how to dye fabric's. This is the Make Orange run and I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I expected everything to come out a bright orange or something, but they're not. They gradually turn to that awesome orange shade and of course the first (red) and last (golden yellow) are the pure colors. It just amazes me at the way things come out. Having to wait for them to batch is like pulling teeth! lol I feel like a kid in a candy store, I can't decide what color to try next! lol

I have been tagged by GAil for this little game.

"Use the first letter of your name to answer each of the following. They have to be real places, names, things.....nothing made up!

Try to use different answers if the person in front of you had the same first initial.

You cannot use your name for the boy/girl name question"

Ok, let's begin:

What is your name: Candi
Four letter word: card

City: Concord
Boy's Name: Carl
Girl's Name: Carole

Now who shall I tag......................?????

Ok so its not 10, but 5 is better then none, right????

My Amaryllis is beginning to bloom

My favorite plants are beginning to bloom now. The Amaryllis on my back patio. I have two huge pots of them. This one is the younger of the two, I've only had it for about 3 years and it's blooming firt. My other one has gotten quite old, I think:) lol It belonged to my sister for I believer 12 or 13 years, she in turn gave it to our mother because it wouldn't bloom for her. (She lives up in the mountains). I believe mother had it for almost that long and since Mom passed I've had it which has been 6 years. Maybe my sister will read this and post so we'll know for sure. OR I could email her. . . what a concept! lol They're sooooooooooo gorgeous in bloom though. The others should all be out in the next week or two. I'll post a picture of the grandma Amaryllis when it blooms. One year the blooms were actually almost 12inches across! The were huge!!

Victoria Rose Cottage

I've been working on getting a license from Victoria Rose Cottage to reprint their roses on silkies to sell on my Etsy. Well I now have the express written permission of Victoria Rose Graphics to do so!!! Whooo hooo!!! I can't wait. They have some of the most incredibly gorgeous roses I've ever seen. You'll soon see them on my Etsy along with lots of other new goodies. Hand dyed ribbon, hand dyed fabrics (slowly, lol) and the beautiful beautiful silkies:)

Gifts from Gail

A few days ago I received a surprise package in the mail from Gail Odegaard, and what a surprise it was! She gifted me her tag that she made in one of our other groups and it's gorgeous!!! The picture does not do the work on the tag justice. It now has a special place on the picture frame of my mothers poem "Quilts and Friends". Along with the Tag she sent me a Dream Pillow filled with lavender! I've been going to make one for quite a while but just hadn't gone out to biu the lavender so you know how welcome the Dream Pillow is:) It's supposed to help you have restful sleep and pleasant dreams. So far so good, it's working:) Gail thank you soooooooo very very much. You're such a dear friend.

Fabric's I had Fun With

These are some fabrics that I dyed a while back and was very unhappy with the way they came out. So I tried my hand at overdyeing them and this time I'm tickled with the outcome:) I'll most definitely use these:)

Sorry About the Lack of Posts

Hi everyone. Just wanted to apologize for the lack of posts lately. Since I fractured my heal 4 weeks ago it seems I'm behind in everything. The first few weeks I couldn't even stitch as I had to sit with my foot elevated. To do that I felt like I was standing on my head backwards! lol I hope over the next few weeks I'll be mobile enough to get back on task and do all the things I normally do and play catch up on those things I haven't done. So bare with me for a while.
Lots of HUGZ:) to all.
