Merry Christmas and Happy Pink Saturday

Merry Christmas and a Happy PInk Saturday too!!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful time celebrating he birth of Christ in his/her own way.  We went to my daughters last night and took the two youngest girls to the Christmas pagent at church.  We had a great time.  Then when we came home we opened gifts to one another and had a great time.

Thank you Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for hosting Pink Saturday for us.  You are GREATLY appreciatd by all.

I'd like to share my favorite Christmas thing today, it's a set of deer that I made many years ago and I just love them.
These are my favorite Christmas decoration.  Believe it or not, I have three sets.  One blue, one pink (mine) and one gray:  My daughter has the blue set and I"ll be sending the other set to a friend of mine after the holidays.  They belonged to my mother and mother in law before they passed away. They are precious and fun.

We'll be spending the day at my brothers, where we'll have dinner and the family here in CA is gathering.  So:
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND MANY BLESSINGS FOR THE NEW YEAR.
hugz:)

MY LUFFA HAS MATURED!!

Whoooo hooooo my Luffa has matured and even though I only got the one, it turned out great.   I cut a small piece off when I was getting the seeds out because I couldn't reach the bottom with the spoon.   You're supposed to do it outside and use the high pressure of the hose to get the seeds out but since it was so cold and getting ready to rain, I decided the spoon and sink were my second best choice! lol

Well, I can only get blogger to take the one photo, so I'll post the other two later.  The big one is about 6 inches long and small one about 3 or so inches that I cut off the larger one.   whooo hoooo lol

Happy Pink Saaturday

  1. These are a few of my tea pots, these in particular are
Christmas pots:)   We've been getting the house decorated for Christmas and still have a ways to go:)
I just love this one, it's a creamer on the top and teapot on the bottom:)
This one is the one that Marydon at Blushing Rose .  I just love it, it's so cheery:)

This one is covered with raised poinsetias and is just lovely.  The picture doesn't do it justice.

This one in particular is so feminine:)  The flowers are poinsetias with holly.  Trimmed in Gold.

Pillowcases Are Done

Here are 6 of the 7 pillowcases I'm making out of the same fabric as in the quilt for my grandson.  Matthew will soon be 18, so his Christmas present this year is a new quilt for his bed and a ton of pilllows!!!! 7 new one's to be exact.lol
There are six here and I'll make one more white with black with the opposite edge.  It's been a real challenge.  My first machine conked out on me and needs repair, well then I pulled out my Janome Memory Craft 9000 and used it for quite a while, well then it went bonkers.   So we took it to Auburn, but they have no idea how long it will take because they have to go through the company regarding some things on it.   So my husband bought me a new Janome Gem 660 as an early Christmas present.  It sews like a dream.  It's lightweight, only has about 12-20 different stitches on it and sews like a dream!!!  Just like my big Janome.  (when it was working lol)  So between being without a machine, then I had to order the backing and it's going to take longer for that to get here. I totally spaced on that.   I have my granddaughters almost ready to go on the quilting frame and as soon as I do, I can quilt that one.   In the meantime, starting tomorrow I'll be working steadily getting Matthews quilt top done.    Have a good one folks:)

Happy Pink Saturday

WOW, does anybody know where this week has gone????   It's just flown by, I can't believe it's Fri. night all ready.  I'd like to share a beautiful little Quilting Angel by Jim Shore, it's even autographed.   She's so very pretty.
She arrived today in a ShoeBox full of other goodies that absolutely knocked my socks off!  I belong to the ShoeBox exchange and every month we put two FQ's in a shoebox(the receiver's color choice) and do that for 12 months.  We add a Christmas Gift that we've made for our person and any other little goodies we want to add into it. Well, to say my cup runneth over is an understatement.  I got everything from the fabrics to   a Quilters Survival Kit to this beautiful ornament/statue:)

Many thanks to Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for hosting this and be sure you stop by and check out all the other blogs.  They're wonderful.   Happy Pink Saturday!

My Sewing Machine is Sick

My Janome Memory Craft 9000 is in the shop to be fixed.  It's the same problem I've dealt with over the years and just found out last night that there was a recall when the machine was sold.  I talked with the dealer and I was never notified about the recall, so she's going to try and see what she can do.   She'll call Janome and see if they'll do anything.  If not, it has to be fixed properly this time.  In the meantime since I don't know when I'm going to get it back, my husband bought me the Janome Gold Gem 660.  It's a nice little machine, just has a few extra stitches, which is fine with me, I've got plenty on my other one.
Isn't it cute:)
It's a little smaller than a standard machine and only weighs I believe 12 pounds.  So when I ordered it today I explaned to the gal what was going on and I have two quilts I HAVE to get done by Christmas.  She was a doll, she was going to try and get it sent out today, if not first thing in the morning.     So I have my fingers crossed I can get it by Monday, one of them.  The Gem will be a great backup though.  Have a good week all:)
