Be sure and stop by Quilts n Things now and then too. I'm so fascinated by my Luffa and I write about "it" in both places. Hope everyone has a GREAT day!

Scrumptuous Surfaces Project Complete
Well, I think my post card is finished. When I posted it last time, Sharon suggested I add more french knots to it. So I did that and did the outline. The outline looks crooked, however, it's pinned on the wall and the fabric doesn't hang to well. The PC is a little heavy with all the embellishments. lol

Hearts for COH
Well, now I have two posts alike! lol The one below will be gone hopefully within 24 hours. After I posted the pic's I realized I hadn't trimmed the hearts yet and they looked awful!! Now they're done right. lol Anyway, last winter I joined the Chain of Hearts Group. Due to some family losses it was several months before I was able to start anything new. I was able to finish up most of my commitments and now I have these the herts finished and several others in the making:) woohoo:)

Almost Complete:)
I'm almost done with my post card:-) I added more beads and more shells today, so I'm real happy with the outcome. I still need to do the edge of the post card but I'm not sure how I want to do it. This one is going into a frame rather than a completed card. But right now I'm doing the happy happy dance:)

Lesson 3 in Scrumptuous Surfaces
Well, this is where I'm at on lesson 3 in the Scrumtuous Surfaces class. Problem is...I feel like I've lost my shell and starfish somewhat in the process. I think there's more work to do, but not sure what to do. Susan suggested reoutlining the shell and starfish possibly with a single or double thread darker than is all ready on there. That might be the key. I think I'm going to put it away for the night and go back to it tomorrow. By the way, that's an upside down set of dolphins that got hung up on the scanner. lol

Matt & Sam's Promised Quilts
Almost have the grandkids quilts finished. The poiple is of course for Samantha and the Halloween for Matthew. I got Sam's Halloween quilt done last year but wasn't able to finish Matthew's. It was a little hard working full time and getting them done. I finished Matthews quilt for his bedroom but didn't quite get Sam's done. Now they're both at the same point...need to be quilted and the edging done. woohoo I'm tickled pink.:) Both are the same simple pattern but boy when you don't have enough hours in the day, it doesn't matter how simple it is! lol

Wow! What A Day For Surprises!!!
Talk about a day of surprises!!! This month our Secret Sis group comes to a close and we reveal ourselves. I received the most beautiful pincushion from Kathy Henry, my Secret Sis!!! The top photo is the front of the it, the second one is the bottom (JUST as pretty as the top!:) ) What a delightful lady she is! A wonderful sense of humor, very very talented in so many areas, and sure did know what I liked! Thank you Kathy.
Then my dear dear friend Barbara Rio knew I was going to be doing a visual journal for my Sumptuous Surfaces class and she got me a Sketch Kit! It has everything in it a body could possibly need to learn to sketch! Thanks Barb it's awesome!
THEN, the postman brought me a package from Thelma Bradshaw full of threads and beads for the SS class we're taking! You're so generous Thelma, thank you!!
So it's been quite a day for me..wow!

Sumptuous Surfaces Class with Sharon Boggons
I decided to go with the Ocean and Beach. We spent many happy and loving times at Shelter Cove, Bodega Bay, and Pt. Reyes, on the CA Coastline. We also raised horses at one time. Thus, the seahorse. He kind of combines the the horses with my connection to the ocean. We all spent hours exploring and finding areas that were full of colorful sea urchins as well as starfish galore. The kids decided to take some starfish home and layed them on the sidewalk with salt on them. This they were told would keep them from smelling....NOT It was the worst odor to get rid of! lol Fishing in the ocean there, eating it fresh cooked over an open fire, all the wonderful memories really set this up. Not only that my DH and I honeymooned at Shelter Cove. (Along with an army of Racoons!) :)

Goodies from my sister Loretta
I emailed my sister Loretta the other day and asked her if she would make me a leather thimble (like the one she made for herself). Well today this package arrived not only with the thimble but with a whole bunch of goodies! I'm still going through and playing with the buttons! :) That'll keep me busy for a while They're all just GREAT! Thank you Loretta I love them all.

Woohoo Check Out The Buttons!
I got an envelope in the mail today and inside were these wonderful buttons!!! The first pic is some really really cute ones including an elephant! (I collect elephants so this one is really special) The second one is a pic of two of the black buttons (there's actually 3 of the large one) and I love them!! Being a button collector my black buttons and my glass are my very favorite so these are such a wonderful gift as a surprise:) The pink one at the botton is a sparkley little thing and is gorgeous! Thank you Susan

Played a little today
I played around with my dyes a little today. I couldn't find my box of brushes (since I've "reorganized" I seem to be having that problem! lol) I used the eye dropper to color them and then soaked them in some of this mornings coffee:) Thanks to Charlene I've used tea before but honestly hadn't thought about coffee. Why not it stains my DH shirts as good as, if not better than, tea.:) They came out ok, I gotta find my brushes! lol

Nancy Tolento's "Night Before Christmas" Block
This is Nancy Tolento's "Night Before Christmas" block for the Unicorns group. The first photo is the whole block and the second is the lower left hand corner where I did an SRE Christmas tree, seam treatments and glitzed up the stars in the corner with some swavorsky (SP?) crystals. Her block is just beautiful and is going to make a gorgeous wall hanging! Everyone has done incredible work on it and it's been such fun:) Hopefully it will be in the mail by Tues. to Gerry:)
